Use this audio waveform video generator to turn an audio track into a moving waveform presentation. Preview the complete waveform, follow playback with an animated progress line, customize the layout and record the result as a WebM video in your browser.
The sample track is loaded automatically. Use it immediately or choose your own audio file, then customize the waveform and record the animation.
The audio waveform video generator first decodes the selected audio so the browser can inspect its samples. Those samples are divided across the duration of the recording and reduced into a set of waveform peaks. The result becomes a visual map of the complete track.
During playback, the Canvas redraws that map continuously. The section that has already played is highlighted, while the remaining waveform stays subdued. A moving playhead marks the current position, creating an animation that follows the timing of the audio.
Web Audio reads the selected track and provides sample data for waveform construction.
Canvas converts the audio peaks into bars, a mirrored shape or a continuous waveform line.
Playback position controls the highlighted portion and moving playhead.

Some material begins with sound rather than footage. A waveform video provides a moving visual element that remains connected to the timing of the recording. The viewer can see where playback is occurring while the complete waveform provides context for the rest of the track.
This can be useful for music excerpts, spoken clips, narration, demonstrations and other audio-led material. The waveform can act as the central visual instead of relying on unrelated motion or a completely static frame.
For spoken projects, you can also explore Audio Content Recording Services and Commercial Audio Recording for additional production information.

Audio peaks become individual vertical bars arranged across the timeline.
Each peak expands above and below the center line for a symmetrical waveform.
Peak values form a continuous line for a cleaner, lighter visual.
Every style highlights the already-played section and marks the current position.
The waveform is a visual representation rather than a calibrated audio meter. If you are learning how production controls affect sound, the Mixer Console Simulator offers another interactive way to explore audio concepts.
The same audio waveform can be presented in several frame shapes. Landscape uses a 16:9 canvas, square uses 1:1 and vertical uses 9:16. Changing the frame does not alter the source audio; it changes the visual composition used for the Canvas and recording.
Wave height controls how much vertical space the waveform occupies. Detail changes the number of peak sections calculated across the track. A lower detail value creates broader shapes, while a higher value reveals more variation across the timeline.
For musicians preparing recordings before creating visual material, Music Recording covers song and instrument sessions, while Song Demo Production covers another stage of developing recorded material.

The animated Canvas can be turned into a video stream with Canvas captureStream. The audio is routed through Web Audio to a media stream, and the browser combines the video and audio tracks for MediaRecorder.
Press Record WebM to begin. Recording starts from the beginning of the track so the resulting animation and sound share the same starting point. You can stop manually or allow the track to reach its end.
Once MediaRecorder finishes assembling the data, the tool creates a temporary save link for the resulting WebM file. Available codecs can differ between browsers, so recording support depends on the browser's MediaRecorder implementation.
If the recording itself needs further balancing or finishing, read about Mixing and Mastering. Artists preparing for their first recording session can also use the First Time Recording Studio Guide.

An audio waveform video tool can provide a straightforward visual when the audio itself is the main material. Because the movement is tied to playback progress, the animation remains synchronized with the recording instead of functioning as an unrelated background effect.
A complete-track waveform makes changes in the overall structure visible across time. Dense passages, quieter areas and pauses can create noticeably different shapes. Artists working in different musical styles can also browse Music Genre Recording Services or read about Blues and Country Recording.
Spoken recordings often contain clear phrases separated by pauses, which can produce an easily recognizable waveform structure. The moving playhead makes the current position visible while the title area can identify the clip, speaker or subject.

The generator runs through browser technologies rather than requiring a separate editing application for the waveform itself. The included sample lets you test the interface immediately, and a local file can replace it whenever you are ready to work with your own recording.
When you choose a file from your device, the browser creates a temporary local playback URL. The same file is decoded into an AudioBuffer so its samples can be summarized into the waveform shown on the Canvas.
A stereo or multichannel file is combined during waveform peak calculation so the display represents the overall amplitude shape rather than drawing a separate waveform for every channel.
This approach makes it practical to try different recordings without manually drawing or importing a waveform image.

Yes. A sample MP3 is loaded by default, and you can replace it with a compatible audio file from your device.
Yes. The tool analyzes the decoded audio and builds peak values across the complete duration. Playback then highlights the section already reached.
Yes. You can switch between bars, a mirrored shape and a line, and adjust both waveform height and detail.
Yes. The preview supports 16:9 landscape, 1:1 square and 9:16 vertical canvases.
The animation uses the audio element's current playback time, and recording starts playback from the beginning when capture begins.
No server upload is used for files selected through this tool. The file is decoded and processed by browser APIs on the device.
You can also browse Audio Recording, Mixing & Mastering Services for a broader overview of audio production work.
Start with the included sample or choose your own track, customize the waveform, preview the animation and record it directly in the browser.
Go beyond individual audio tools. Arrange multiple tracks, edit clips, build modular effect chains, add modulation, mix through a Master bus, save projects and export the finished mix to WAV.
